FALL 2006 HUNTING UPDATE:

Dear friends,
We have had 2 very poor years caribou hunting. We have been able to show our guests 3000-4000 caribou during there hunt, but there have been no shooter bulls in with those animals. Most of the ethical guides and air taxis have decided to not hunt the Mulchatna herd in the near future and I have back 11 deposits for 2006. I would not reccommend the Mulchatna herd for caribou hunts. I would look at hunting the arctic herd in northern Alaska. If I see some positive changes in the future I will start hunting caribou again, till then I can not take peoples money knowing that all they are going to get is a camping trip. We will be doing a 6 day black bear, wolf and fishing drop camp. In one of our areas the limit on black bears is 3 and 10 wolves per day, so if that is someting you would be interested in contact us for more details.

About every other inquiry we get hunters askingif they can fish during their hunt. Well, in 2006 you can, and on Alaska's famous Nushigak River where there are honest 20-32" rainbow trouts. Bring your fly rod or spin cast gear and your favorite flies. This is a catch & release only on rainbows or catch & eat on
arctic chars & grayling.

* If you want to hunt caribou during your black bear & wolf hunt, just buy a tag, and if you do take an animal, no trophy fee will be charged.

Overnight in Iliamna at a B&B Aprox. $100.00 per night includes an evening and morning meal.
Air charter from Iliamna to my main camp $500.00 RT

Transportation of meat, horns, and capes from main camp to Iliamna $ 75.00 per Caribou

N/C for bears, wolves and wolverine ( meat can be donated in Iliamna)
Transportation of meat to your home, This varies but we recommend you take only what you can take with you on the commercial airlines and this is limited due to weight restrictions. The best way is to ship it from Iliamna to Anchorage via Northern Air Cargo 35 cents per lb ( average weight of the required meat salvaged from a Caribou is 140lbs, Moose is from 475lbs to 800lbs),and then on to a meat processor.
Transportation of horns and capes to your home. See our list of airline restrictions.
The best way to do this is to allow an expediter or taxidermist to crate your horns and dry cape and Ship by truck to your Taxidermist or home
